Veneers Can Help Provide Straighter-Looking Teeth
If you are looking for a way to achieve straighter-looking teeth without going through the process of braces or Invisalign, veneers may be the choice for you. Veneers can help cover gaps, chipped teeth, discolouration, and a variety of other cosmetic issues you might wish to correct.
If getting a veneer seems like the right choice for you, be sure to book an appointment at Symmetry Dental today. We will be happy to walk you through the process and answer any questions you may have.
What are Veneers?

Veneers are a permanent cosmetic treatment used to cover a range of aesthetic issues you might have with your teeth. Our veneers are made from durable porcelain materials and can help improve the appearance of:
- Tooth gaps
- Chipped or cracked teeth
- Crooked teeth
- Internal tooth discolouration
- Small teeth
Once a veneer bonds to your teeth, it can only be replaced by other veneers. By keeping a healthy oral care routine, you can help extend the lifespan of your veneers up to 10 years. If you crack or damage your veneers, we will need to replace them.

The Veneer Process
You may be a candidate for veneers if you have healthy gums, strong tooth enamel, and don’t grind your teeth. We will be happy to discuss your candidacy when you come in for a veneer consultation appointment.
The Dental Exam & Consultation
Dental exams are essential before we commit to any cosmetic or restorative procedures. Our exam process can determine if your enamel is thick enough for veneers and if veneers can cover the issues you have with your teeth.
Getting Temporary Veneers
If veneers are right for you, our team will book you for an appointment where you will receive a set of temporary veneers. After applying a local anesthetic, our dentist will buff and shape your teeth by removing a thin layer of enamel. Removing this enamel will help prepare your teeth for the veneer.
However, before applying a temporary veneer, our team will take moulds of your teeth to help create your permanent veneers. After taking these impressions, we will apply your temporary veneers.
Getting Permanent Veneers
We will have you come in for your permanent veneer placement within a couple of weeks of taking your moulds. During this appointment, we will cement your permanent veneers to the surface of your teeth and provide you with information on how to take care of them.
If your veneers break or take on damage, we will need to replace them. However, with proper care, they should last for years.
